16,000 Saudi students in US without power
"Saudi diplomats in the United States have reassured the authorities in the Kingdom about the safety of Saudi scholarship students in the country in the wake of devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Aziz Khojah said He said Adel Al-Jubair, the Kingdom's Ambassador in Washington, telephoned King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to assure the safety of all Saudis in the affected areas.Mohammad Al-Harbi, the head of citizens' affairs section at the embassy, said payment for hotels used by Saudis during the hurricane and their living expenses will be borne by the mission.Khalid Al-Zahrani, head of citizens' affairs at the New York Consulate, denied reports about the death of student Abdulaziz Al-Enezi due to a roof collapse.He said efforts made to verify the report with local authorities confirmed that none of the victims were Saudi."
