Confronting Tremendous Challenges: Prince Turki al-Faisal

9.28.12

I think Saudi Arabia over the past 80 years has been going through an Arab Spring. When you look at the Kingdom when I was born in it for example, 1945, there were no schools in Saudi Arabia. There were no roads. Disease and poverty were the rule rather than the exception. Since then, the government and the people hand-in-hand developed a very viable and very dynamic population and country that is aspiring, hopefully, to better things in the future. And when you go to the Kingdom today, you see a very strong economic and social composition to the development of the Kingdom. So that’s the spring that Saudi Arabia is going through.
