They do become more pragmatic, but the precedent of an activist insurgent religious party hits a little bit close to home in Saudi Arabia. There’s going to be a lot of tentativeness not just in Saudi Arabia, but in many countries in the GCC about not embracing the new government of Egypt until it’s clear about its plan. The plan they want to see is one that is more inclusive, one that is moderate, and one that seeks to stabilize the region rather than to tip the region into revolution.
